The internet cafe is located in a 350 year old building in the mediaeval core of Mettmann. O'Neill Consulting provided full interior design, graphic design and project management services including obtaining approvals from the authorities responsible for historic building conservation, obtaining tenders and administering all subcontracts directly. The design chanllenge involved inserting a functional modern interior into a space formed bz a vaulted ceiling and stone walls withour a single right angle. The solution involved hand customising and tailoring modern materials such as standard steel sections to fit comfortably into the hand crafted mediaeval stonework.
